CAMP HUMPHREYS — An aerobithon was held at the Super Gym May 19, with participants dancing, spinning, and jumping their way to better fitness.
“It was great,” said Elvia Palumbo, one of the Zumba instructors for the event. “This was a great way to introduce all of the classes offered in the Super Gym.”
The aerobithon included a warm-up session, followed by Zumba, a stationary bicycle workout and yoga.
“We worked the total body,” said Karen Morton, who organized the aerobithon. “Exercising like this helps you feel better about yourself.”
Morton once weighed 260 pounds, but turned her life around with regular workouts and can now say, “I think I look good for my age.”
Blair Bogle, who also participated in last year’s aerobithon, likewise praised the virtues of diet and exercise.
“Living a healthy life is an everyday thing,” she said.
“I think the energy is high and people are into taking care of their body for a lifetime,” Morton added. “This is a lifestyle for me.”
Also participating was the husband-wife team of Peter and Christi Herring, who have lost a total of 73 pounds this year.
“This was meant for younger people,” Mrs. Herring said with a laugh. “But I like it.”

Or: "How NOT to dispose of your secret documents".
These documents were found in a rusty oil drum, laying in the Hackerspace Hack42 garden (KKN6 building), situated on the former military compound "Kamp Koningsweg Noord". They are maps, charts, procedures and strategies regarding NATO exercise "Cold Grouse" (probably the one in october 1995) and documents regarding logistics and "White Rhino".
Most of the paper is either deteriorated or burnt but some perfectly legible pages still remain. Part of the plastic maps are fused together by the heat of the fire, but some are still perfectly readable.

Chemical unit holds wartime decontamination exercise
(October 15, 2009) — Soldiers of the 22nd Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) underwent a vigorous exercise testing their skill and knowledge in decontamination for chemical agents during a Chemical Response Team exercise in the Edgewood Area Sept. 24.
Captain Siyoung Lee, team leader for the Chemical Response Team (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high yield Explosives), explained that two chemical response teams were being evaluated by the unit’s subject matter experts.
The scenario was a response by the teams to a chemical agent exposure incident on front line troops. Team members formed three ranks, approximately five meters apart inside a ‘contaminated’ area marked by red tape. Casualties had to move forward into the area, stopping at each rank, to be decontaminated by team members. Read more…

Working at the Cross Light exercise for Strobist Boot Camp 2010.
Again, this was not a slam dunk exercise. the chosen BG had the flash more as straight fill than crosslight. The midday desert sun is quite birght with sharp shadows. Chimping the LCD was a PIA.
